Eggplant is a plant with well-developed root groups, which requires a large amount of fertilizer and has a strong ability to absorb nutrients and water. In order to achieve high-quality and high yield, it is necessary to provide a reasonable supply of fertilizer. So, how to fertilize eggplant?
1. Heavy application of basic fertilizer
In combination with land preparation, 15000 to 20000 kg of decomposed farm manure, 10 to 15 kg of urea, and 50 kg of compound fertilizer (15: 15: 15) were applied per 667 square meters.
2. Light application of seedling fertilizer
After planting and before flowering, topdressing should be done 1-2 times according to the growth potential of the plant, and the concentration should not be too high, otherwise the plant will grow excessively, causing flower and fruit loss. During pollination, in order to prevent flower and fruit loss, if the plant is not seriously deficient in fertilizer and water, topdressing and watering are generally not required.
3. Timely fruit dressing
When the pollinated fruit grows to the size of a duck egg, it should be watered and fertilized in a timely manner, and 10 to 20 kg of urea and 25 kg of compound fertilizer should be applied in holes every 667 square meters to promote rapid expansion of the fruit. After pollination, topdressing should be done 2-3 times, with 10 to 15 kg of compound fertilizer per 667 square meters per time.
When the fruit starts to turn color, stop applying fertilizer and keep the soil moist. The preparation and application of basic fertilizer in the parent field are basically the same as those in the parent field. As long as there is an adequate supply of pollen, topdressing is generally not required and the soil is kept moist.
During the full fruit period, phosphorus and potassium fertilizers should be applied together for 2-3 times to meet the needs of eggplant growth and fruit bearing, and can also play a role in improving the quality of eggplant fruit.
